Sculpture by John Prout
Figurative fine art sculpture in Bronze and Terracotta
John W. Prout discovered that he had a talent for sculpting in his mid 40's. He appreciates the beauty in the human form and is passionate about representing the human figure. Forays into abstract art expression did not appeal to him and he quickly reverted to his passion which is representing people of all shapes and sizes.
With a flair that is uniquely John, his pieces express movement and are often of positions that a model could not possibly hold for more than a blink of an eye.
He represents the musculature and the way gravity would work on the body and captures stances impossible to be held perpetually.
John has shown his work at the Loveland Sculpture Invitational and at private sculpture shows. He has been commissioned to sculpt both small, medium and life-size sculptures.
He has trained under some of the worlds best known figurative and portrait art instructors and is always excited to learn from others.
